The average price of a single family home sold in Northern BC varied only slightly from the level seen a year earlier according to numbers from the BC Real Estate Association.
Homes in the region sold for an average $228,513 in May which is 0.4 percent higher than the average seen over the same month last year.
However, total units sold stood at 390 units, compared to 449 a year ago, translating into $89.1 million in sales, down 12.8 percent from $102.2 million in May 2010. Year-to-date, the average sale price now stands at $217,581 down 1.2 percent from 2010, and sales have reached 1,447, down 4.6 percent, for a dollar volume of $314.8, million down 5.7 percent.
